The UVA Sustainability Plan includes a commitment to increasing renewable energy within UVA's portfolio, in alignment with UVA's greenhouse gas reduction goal and using the Grounds as a learning tool. The Office for Sustainability, in partnership with School of Engineering and Applied Sciences students, recently evaluated rooftops for all 500+ buildings on Grounds for its solar energy potential. This analysis is being translated into a phasing plan to install additional solar PV, annually increasing the amount of renewable energy on Grounds.
